چکیده

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is a widely used therapeutic modality for the pancreaticobiliary tree. However, it responsible highest rates of complications among endoscopic procedures, especially post-endoscopic pancreatitis. The preventive methods include mechanical and pharmacological approaches, such as use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. OBJECTIVE: To compare efficacy two different strategies using drugs prevention pancreatitis, to clarify uncertainty about route administration in this complication. METHODS: This was prospective trial. Two groups were compared with control group that composed patients who underwent cholangiopancreatography, performed same service by team period preceding study (historical series), without any type prophylaxis. first received 100 mg rectal diclofenac. second intravenous ketoprofen. Both compared, separately jointly, group. RESULTS: Post-endoscopic pancreatitis occurred 4.39% (12/273) participants. In prophylaxis, incidence 6.89% (10/145). Among those ketoprofen, 2.56% (2/78). No cases acute post-procedural observed diclofenac (0/52). Although there no statistical difference between when they analyzed, analyzed together (P=0.037). CONCLUSION: provides evidence prophylaxis

Post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis

Acute pancreatitis remains the most common complication of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). It is reported to occur in 2-10% of unselected patient samples and up to 40% of high-risk patients. The purpose of this article is to review the evidence behind the known risk factors for post-ERCP pancreatitis, as well as the technical and medical approaches developed to prevent it...

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography Pancreatitis

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is an essential modality for the diagnosis and therapy of pancreatobiliary disease. However, complications of ERCP-related procedures are also common. Post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP), the most common and potentially serious complication of ERCP-related procedures, occurs in 1 9% of all procedures (1-16). Moreover, the PEP rate increases to 10 4...

Endoscopic prevention of post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis.

Post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) pancreatitis (PEP) is not an uncommon adverse event but may be an avoidable complication. Although pancreatitis of severe grade is reported in 0.1%-0.5% of ERCP patients, a serious clinical course may be lethal. For prevention of severe PEP, patient risk stratification, appropriate selection of patients using noninvasive diagnostic imag...

Role of diclofenac in reducing post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Acute pancreatitis following endoscopic retrograde cholangiography presents a unique opportunity for prophylaxis and early modification of the disease process because the initial triggering event is temporally well defined and takes place in the hospital. We report a prospective, single-center, randomized, double-blind controlled trial to determine if rectal diclofenac reduc...
